Bareboat Charters in Greece
Bareboat charter offers experienced sailors the option to hire and sail a yacht of your choice with no skipper or crew. For those with sea experience it is a very popular option and one the best ways to see the Greek islands. The diversity of the Greek islands and Aegean Sea provides something for everyone – from quiet family sailing and island hopping, to ample more challenging sailing for the experienced and adventurous.Through our network of yacht owners and partners we offer bareboats across all Greek sailing areas – The Ionian, Saronic, Cyclades, Sporades and Dodecanese Islands. Our primary ports are Athens, Lefkas, Corfu, Skiathos, Kos and Vindcharter’s base on Rhodes. The season runs from May to October and you can select from yachts ranging from 31 - 55 feet.
For bareboat charter in Greece you will require a sailing qualification from the RYA or equivalent. Whilst the Archipelago is easy to navigate, distances between islands should not be under-estimated and sailing conditions are changeable despite the consistently hot climate. For those with little or no experience of sailing in Greece we recommend keeping routes realistic, allowing for extra time and always checking weather conditions on the day. If in doubt, hire a skipper or take advantage of Vindcharter’s flagship sailing package.
